Hi! It’s Jazz! My mommy brought me home in May of 2019. I was a cute little fluff ball and I have always loved people. She didn’t quite know how to handle me sometimes because I was much more energetic than any animal she had ever had. One day, she was reading peacefully in the living room and I was bringing a ball back to her! (Fetch is my FAVORITE!!) when I was bouncing around the kitchen. Somehow, I jumped so high I ended up on the counter!
Let me tell you, I was super scared! I started whining and begging my mommy to come get me. It seemed super high! When she came in she froze and said “How on Earth did you do that?” Then she called me her little “mountain goat” whatever that means. She picked me up and put me on the floor. I never have done that again (I do peek up at the counter sometimes when she leaves tasty treats up there though)!!
What I learned was that sometimes I get myself into situations that I do not know how to get out of!! Sometimes I get scared to get myself out of it. What helps the most is to have my person – my mommy – that I love and trust who can help me get out of a tough spot.
When she laughs, I can almost feel like everything is going to be OK. Even before she has helped me out! It is OK to ask for help. It is OK to find a person that I can trust to help me. It is OK to be embarrassed, but no need to feel shamed when I get myself in a pickle!
Who is YOUR trusted person? As they say in the movies, “Who ya gonna call?”
