You just can’t get past it.
It comes out of nowhere – overwhelming emotions. Stifling anxiety.
You can’t get it out of your mind. What happened replays itself over and over – day after day – night after night. You want to get on with your life, but you just can’t.
It’s starting to eat at you – it’s even affecting your relationships.
Sometimes, it feels like the nightmare is always going to keep you trapped. But that’s not how it has to be – thanks to EMDR.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that uses either eye movements, tapping, or my hand-held buzzers (they vibrate like a cell phone — I promise they don’t shock!) to help take memories that are in the “active file” and put them in the “archive file.”
This is especially helpful for people experiencing symptoms like anxiety attacks, emotionally charged responses, flashbacks, or difficulties in relationships that related to a traumatic incident from the past.
You don’t have to go it alone.
I understand. You’d like to get on with your life.
Many people, especially here in the Texas Panhandle, feel they should be able to “suck it up” and leave the past in the past. But the truth is that, sometimes, we can’t do that.
The human brain just isn’t built that way. But that’s the beauty of EMDR.
EMDR allows you to let go of the emotions attached to the memory and do what you want – move on. And, it’s validated by research and often faster than talk therapy!
Put your past behind you. Start enjoying the present and looking forward to the future.
It’s never too soon to take the first step toward freedom.
