It hurts.
The days seem long and lethargic.
The headaches, backaches, and physical pain are nothing – compared to the oppressive darkness, the emptiness.
Then there are the moments where, like a wave, emotions from the past (a past you would rather forget) wash over you unannounced. Things you thought you had hidden away or forgotten about pop up when you least expect – and least want – them.
It feels like it will never end.
Family and friends throw words around: lazy, flakey, unpredictable.
Or, perhaps even more official-sounding terms: bipolar, depressed, PTSD.
It feels hopeless – but it’s not.
There is hope. There IS an end to this.
It might not be visible right now, but together, we can make a difference.
Whether you have gone through something horrifying like sexual assault or abuse, or if you’ve lost someone that you don’t know how to live without, I will stick with you through these days.
I’ll help you understand what you’re going through – as well as how to make it to the other end, to where the light at the end of the tunnel is just a light in your life.
Trust takes time.
I understand that.
I’m going to work hard to earn your trust – to hear the hard things – what’s difficult to speak, even to yourself.
To help you get through, we’ll explore several types of therapy, some of which you may have heard of, like talk therapy – others less known, like EMDR.
At each step, I’ll make sure you understand what we’re doing.
We’ll will work together to determine how to get there.
Rediscover your light. Start truly living again.
Reach out to me. Let’s talk – let’s take that first step on your journey.
Together, we can work toward a life that you love.
